Description
A son out fishing with his father discovers three large black bags floating up by the water’s edge. Curiously the boy opened one of the bags and found an arm and a torso. The other bags had similar revulsions but no head or hands were found.
There were, however, several clues that lead the police to identify the dead man as Martin Blankson and further more takes them on the bizarre hunt for a man who is more elusive than the Scarlet Pimpernel. He first presents himself as the deaf mute cross-dresser who lived next door to the deceased, responding only by writing everything down but never speaking. He was also going under the name of Dora Smith a woman who went to the same school as him but they weren’t friends.
When arrested and taken into custody he was able to post £150,000 bail by morning and disappeared in the wind. The police soon learn he is a son of a billionaire property family but he is not the prodigal son. He worked in the family business managing properties and collecting rents.
