S C Irving.

I am a Tailor of more than 30 years and in 1999 I was subjected to an attack by a man I barely knew. He lay in wait outside my home and attacked me after I’d rejected his unwanted advances. I refused to have men around me after this event, even becoming estranged from my own father.
This essentially destroyed my livelihood as a Tailor since the majority of my customers were men. I became a lone wolf, a recluse while I suffered the symptoms of post traumatic stress disorder. Twenty-two months went by before I even realised what was happening to me.
I started to write in an angry response to the attack because I refused to allow any man to have this level of control over my emotional state and walk away unscathed. My writing was a purely mechanical reaction, to give me the power to destroy – virtually, spiritually and literally the man who tried to destroy me.
You have absolutely no idea just how liberating that is.

About
SIAN INGRAM MYSTERIES PRESENTS...

Finishing Destruction Of A Nobody was just the start of a new journey for me because now I was on a roll. This novel has been informed by my personal experience whilst suffering from P.T.S.D. and visual impairment that occurred as a direct result of his unnecessary violence. I sought out other violent crimes against women and continued to tell their stories.

Women are often portrayed poorly in fiction surrounding victims of violence, and I wanted to redirect the narrative, bring exigent drama and an altered perception to the cause and effect surrounding the characters and circumstances not to change the outcome but to give women a more appropriate voice.

My books contain dark humour and themes of retribution, empowerment, and starting again. They will appeal to fans of Pulp Fiction and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels with strong women protagonists keeping it real, and righteous.

I have written fifteen subsequent synopses, eleven of which are based on real crimes. The books are all at various stages of completion with progress bars to keep you updated and let you know when your favourite is complete. The book cover will finally come into full view ready for you to buy. Send an email and add your name to the waiting list for your title and be the first to know when you can get your copy. Destruction of a Nobody along with two non-fiction books about my experiences have been self-published. I have finished my next book, a Novella called Who’s Your Daddy, based on another real crime. It will be launched on Fathers Day. I also have two titles based on 2 real men of ethnic origin who represent the type of man who fought hard against more adversities than you can imagine, to be the right type of male role model for their families. Check out The Bridgetower Legacy and The Truth About Byron. Why not get in touch and let me know which title from the shop you would love to see available next.

Who is R C Quinn?

I created a pseudonym when I finished this book because after being convinced to publish, I was afraid to use my own name. I finally published my first book in 2013 under R C Quinn. As a survivor of a violent attack I wasn’t yet ready to let the attacker know I was back, ready to tell my story and call him out, by recreating the crime and tell my story in my way of the attack that changed my life.

I had already started writing a book of sorts in 1998 and recovered an 8 page document called The Novel while doing housekeeping on my computer files. It took me from 2001 to 2008 to write it because I thought I had to remain angry to finish it successfully that resulted in a 3 year impasse or writer’s block, but I proved myself wrong.

From September 17th 2007 to Valentine’s Day 2008 I wrote 310 pages and but for the editing, the manuscript was complete. I launched he book April 30th 2014. It was the most cathartic and restorative journey I could have taken and I am ready to relaunch the 2nd Edition in my own name.
